Do you Repipe or Reroute?
Once your water leak has been located you will be faced with a decision on how to repair or reroute the pipe moving forward. These situations are often case-by-case.
For instance, if you have a pipe that sprung a leak in the wall, we would repair that section or replace the piping in that wall. If you have a slab leak we will work with you to decide on direct access repair, reroute, or repipe services for the whole water system.
At Slab Leaks Plus Inc., our repipe specialists will always provide you with options and recommendations for what can be done moving forward. These include:
Direct Access Repair Services
This is done when we locate leak below concrete, remove flooring, jackhammer concrete, and expose water pipe underground for repair. This is not recommended in most cases due to post-tension slab, replacement of flooring, and it may not be cost-effective.
Rerouting is done when we locate both ends of the pipe that is leaking and cap off at manifolds. Then or repipe specialists reroute a new pex or Type L copper water pipe overhead through walls and ceiling. Bypassing the old water line. This is the most common repair and most cost-effective in most cases.
